The Ombudsman’s Office has designed its website at http://www.defensordelpueblo.es to make it fully accessible for all citizens and ensure their access to the information without any limitation or restriction due to special needs or technical factors. A series of measures have been adopted to achieve this goal, which enable citizens to enjoy certain advantages when visiting our website. This means, for example:

• It enables access to be made regardless of a user’s physical condition or environment.
• It permits access with different browsers.
• Its content is clearly organised.
• It makes browsing easy and seeks to improve the user’s experience.
• Accordingly, certain measures have been adopted:
  • Use of style sheets for presenting information
  • Alternative text in images
  • Details on the purpose or destination of hyperlinks
  • Use of W3C standards
  • Access to the main options via keyboard shortcuts
  • Compliance with standards
  • Changes of language are identified by the corresponding tag to make the task easier for those navigating with text readers

Depending on the browser used, the keyboard combinations for these shortcuts are as follows: 

• Internet Explorer: Alt + "Access key" + Intro
• Firefox: Alt + Shift + "Access key"
• Opera: Shift + Esc + "Access key"
• Konqueror (Linux): Press and release the Control key, and then press the number or letter of the access key.
• Netscape 6 and earlier (All platforms): Access keys are not supported, so please use a different browser.
• Opera 8 and later (All platforms): Press on the Shift and Escape keys and at the same time press on the number or letter of the access key.
• Safari and Omniweb (Mac OS X): Press on the Control key and at the same time press on the number or letter of the access key.
