The Spanish Ombudsman as NHRI
The Spanish Ombudsman (Defensor del Pueblo) is the High Commissioner of the Cortes Generales, appointed by them to defend the rights set out in Title I of the Constitution (“On Fundamental Rights and Duties”), and for this purpose may oversee the activities of the public administration.
