On Thursday, 16 February, at Adolfo Suárez-Madrid Barajas airport, the Ombudsman and the chief technician at the department for migration and equal treatment attended the reception and hosting of 66 refugees from Greece. Sixty-five of them are of Syrian origin and one has Iraqi nationality.

The secretary general for immigration and emigration, Marina del Corral; the director general of domestic policy, Cristina Díaz Márquez; two refugee care persons from the Basque Government, and staff from the Red Cross, among others, were present.

From among the refugees who arrived on Friday, 24 will be hosted in Barcelona, 18 in Almería, nine in Castellón, five in Palencia, five in Palma de Mallorca, four in Bizkaia and one in Madrid.
