The Office of the Defensor del Pueblo expresses all-out support for and solidarity with the Government of France over the great tragedy as a result of the terrorist attacks in Paris. As a defender of Rights, the foremost and supreme right that we proclaim and defend is the right to life.
We declare our deep sympathy for the families of the victims and accompany them in their sorrow. Jihadism has become a serious threat for the West as a whole, and we have to staunchly defend the values of a society that respects life, rights and freedom. We stand beside all the people of France and beside its Ombudsman.
