The Defensor del Pueblo held a working meeting today with NGO’s that collaborate in the reception and social integration of people in need of international protection in Spain.

This meeting is part of the actions initiated by this institution to better understand the refugee situation in Spain and thus be able to present a study before the Congress articulating the asylum situation. This study, which is in its final drafting phase, will present conclusions and make recommendations that seek to improve the conditions of the Spanish reception and processing system. The Defensora del Pueblo, Soledad Becerril, has taken advantage of the situation to express her appreciation for the work of the Spanish civil society in the reception of these people.
