How to file a complaint?

Describe the problem clearly and simply, indicating the name of the administration (government office or agency) with which you disagree. Include your full name and mailing address, your phone number and email address. It is also helpful if you attach copies of any additional documentation you have concerning your complaint.

The Defensor’s services are free of charge, and you do not need an attorney or counsel to file your complaint. If you have any problems when filing a complaint online, click here.

You can file your complaint:

  • By email: registro@defensordelpueblo.es
  • In person: at the citizen advice office of our headquarters, located at 42, Zurbano Street in Madrid.
  • By fax: Fax signed complaint to (+34) 913 081 158
  • By post: Mail signed complaint to: Oficina del Defensor del Pueblo Calle Zurbano, 42 -28010 Madrid.
